13 Oct Ashwagandha + Lavender Oil Sleep Tonic
You may be thinking, what is Ashwagandha?! Well, it’s an adaptogenic. What are adaptogenics? Well, I’ve only recently found out myself!
“adaptogen: (in herbal medicine) a natural substance considered to help the body adapt to stress.”
I bet you’ve heard of plants that are natural adaptogens.. It’s interesting, as a lot of adaptogens are plants that have adapted to growing in stressful conditions, which is what makes them so powerful. For example, heard of maca? That grows in a harsh climate and at a high altitude. Pretty cool right? And, just like essential oils, it’s important that they are sourced where they grow indigenously to guarantee quality.
My friend showed me her recipe for using Lavender Oil and Ashwagandha recently, and so I just had to modify it + create my own haha! I use Lavender Oil a lot. I combine it mostly with Vetiver + Cedarwood in my diffuser before bed, or in a spray bottle + spray it over my linen. It helps me relax and wind down before bed time + helps me get a good nights sleep!
